Making Moves Monday: Training Tip From Coach Shannon

“To beat a defender the most important thing is a change of pace. One significant, controlled, touch will get you by a defender just the same as the most intricate and complex moves” -Coach Shannon Grogan

This week at Moorestown High School, Coach Shannon returns to an area she is very familiar with. She played locally at Holy Cross Academy where she earned All-State as a soccer captain. From there she went on to play Division I at Stony Brook University where she was named America East All-Academic team as a Coastal Environmental Studies major. Coach Shannon made starts in all 17 matches her senior year, and tied her career-high with four assists. She also gave campers a lesson today on controlled dribbling and making moves in high pressure situations. She encouraged campers to dribble with the inside and outside of their feet with every step being a touch. Coach Shannon also shared the key to making a perfect turn. See more in the video below!
