Retired Professional Soccer Player As Union Soccer Schools Coach

Union Soccer Schools has a retired professional soccer player as a coach this summer! Not only do campers get to meet current pros at PPL Park this week, they have the opportunity to be coached by one. Coach Steve attended Washington Township High School, where he received All-State recognition. He was recruited to play at Rowan University where he was selected as a Regional All-American. From there Steve Wink went pro playing for the Philadelphia Freedom and South Jersey Barons as a dominant midfielder for three years. He is still active in playing the game and helped lead his team to the U-50 National Championship in the USASA Veterans Cup.

After his professional career Coach Steve began coaching a successful soccer program at Deptford High School, where he still is today. Coach Steve loves Union Soccer Schools because of all the excellent coaches and campers he gets to meet every week. Coach Steve’s focus for today was on ball control, situational awareness, and being able to beat an opponent in a 1v1 situation. Union Soccer Schools camper Christian did an exceptional job implementing these techniques in the video above! Stellar performance Christian!
